2006 Outstanding Regional Stormwater Research Project Award
Geomatrix has participated with the Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers Watershed Council in their storm water for groundwater augmentation study for the past two years. The project objective is to assess the feasibility of increasing groundwater supply with captured and treated storm water without degrading the quality of the groundwater resource. Results to date suggest that, if sites are carefully selected to avoid contaminated sites, captured storm water can be utilized to augment groundwater supply without significantly impacting groundwater quality.
The success of this project resulted in the Watershed Council receiving the 2006 Outstanding Regional Stormwater Research Project Award from the California Stormwater Quality Association.
