AMEC’s Youngs Wins EERI’s Outstanding Paper Award
OAKLAND, CA – AMEC Geomatrix’s Robert Youngs was one of nine co-authors contributing to an article that has won the Outstanding Paper Award of 2008 from the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI). The award-winning paper was called “Comparisons of the NGA Ground-Motion Relations,” and was published in Earthquake Spectra Vol. 24, No. 1, in February 2008. A letter from EERI President Farzad Naeim states, "recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of earthquake engineering is one of the Institute’s most important responsibilities." Bob is a principal engineer working with the Decision Analysis Group in AMEC Geomatrix’s Oakland, Calif. office. Formal recognition takes place at an Awards Luncheon Feb. 4 in San Francisco, Calif.
