AMEC Geomatrix Expands Air Quality Permitting and Compliance Capabilities in Phoenix
Ms. Kathlene Rantz Graf has joined the Phoenix office of AMEC Geomatrix, as a Senior Air Quality Engineer. Ms. Graf brings more than 10 years of environmental engineering experience, in particular, expertise in regulatory agency processes as well as rules and policy interpretation. Prior to joining Geomatrix, Ms. Graf managed the air Quality Permitting Division of the Maricopa County Air Quality Department (MCAQD), reporting to the Director. In this position, she played a key role in high-level decision making involving compliance determinations, enforcement actions, as well as overseeing the issuance of major and minor air quality permits. Before taking on the role of Permitting Division Manager, Ms. Graf held staff positions with the MCAQD in compliance and permit engineering, where she was responsible for evaluation of permit applications, development of permit documents, and determination of compliance status for industrial sources. Geomatrix clients will benefit from this unique combination of technical skill and regulatory expertise. Ms. Graf’s experience enables her to be adept at strategically applying regulatory rules in ways that advance projects to practical and protective endpoints. Her project experience ranges from industrial manufacturing to mining and mineral processing industries.

Graf earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers and the Portland Cement Association.
