Natural Resource Damage Assessments (NRDA)
AMEC Geomatrix scientists have conducted many sediment characterization projects. Our experience includes both marine and fresh water requirements. We provide cost-effective solutions for mitigation of NRD liability and settlement proposals which present habitat values for restoration negotiation for NRD Trustees. Two of our projects were in the Hylebos Waterway and Duwamish in which we prepared the Habitat Equivalency Analysis (HEA) model that was used by the Trustees to assign damages to potentially responsible parties. AMEC Geomatrix scientists have years of experience in the maximization of habitat values (Discounted Service Acre Years [DSAYs]) of potential restorations while minimizing construction costs.
