Hazard Analysis
As for all AMEC Geomatrix consulting assignments, our people are what distinguish our work and work product. The Geomatrix team offers the exact combination of skills needed for a hazard analysis project: capabilities in using geologic, seismologic, geophysical, and geotechnical studies to identify and characterize seismic sources and the ground motions they may produce; in-depth knowledge of the important issues related to seismic hazards in active tectonic regions as well as more stable continental regions; familiarity with issues related to licensing facilities including nuclear; expertise in performing the calculations that underlie probabilistic seismic hazard analyses and in deaggregating the results; and a long history of successful interactions with regulators and among team members.

During the time the team has worked together, the approach to assessing earthquake hazards at nuclear and other critical facilities has moved from deterministic toward probabilistic. AMEC Geomatrix has been part of many studies that developed this transition in approach.
