Principal Hydrogeologist
Expertise:
Contaminant Hydrogeology
Environmental Site Characterization
In situ Remediation
Mr. Einarson has more than 20 years of experience in the development, testing, and application of innovative approaches and technologies for cost-effective environmental site characterization and in situ remediation. His expertise includes defining and evaluating processes that control NAPL source zone dissolution and the subsequent creation and migration of dissolved plumes of contaminants and reaction byproducts. Mr. Einarson’s particular expertise is in projects that require holistic evaluations of potential impacts to water supply wells resulting from releases of contaminants to groundwater aquifers.
Mr. Einarson is a pioneer in the development and application of expedited site assessment technologies and practices to characterize contaminated sites quickly and cost effectively, and has co-authored industry and regulatory guidance documents on this subject. Mr. Einarson holds patents on innovative site assessment technologies, including a dual-tube soil coring system and a multi-level groundwater monitoring system.
Mr. Einarson has an academic appointment in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Stanford University as a Consulting Assistant Professor where he lectures and participates in field research related to assessment and remediation of groundwater contamination. Mr. Einarson is also an instructor in the Princeton Ground Water and Pollution and Princeton Remediation courses, and is an instructor in the University of Waterloo graduate course in field hydrogeology. Mr. Einarson is a frequent lecturer to environmental regulators in California and other states. He has authored or co-authored dozens of technical publications and is an associate editor of the technical journal Ground Water Monitoring and Remediation.
